Five easy steps to get your plan going

1. Check the mail for your ID card

You should receive your Anthem HealthKeepers Plus member ID card in the mail. You’ll use it to go to the doctor, get prescriptions, and in case of an emergency. If it’s been more than two weeks since you enrolled and you didn’t get your card, give us a call at 800-901-0020 (TTY 711). You may also view your member ID card through the Sydney Health mobile app.

2. Create your online account

To access the secure member area of our website, you’ll need to create your account. This will allow you to:

Change your primary care provider (PCP).
Access or print your member ID card.
Send a private message to Member Services.
Manage your prescriptions.

Create an account in just minutes. You’ll need your member ID number (shown on your ID card), your birth date, and your ZIP code.

3. Make an appointment with your PCP

Your main doctor is called a primary care provider, or PCP. Your PCP is listed on your member ID card and in your online account. Call to make an appointment as soon as you can. All new Anthem HealthKeepers Plus members should visit their PCP within 90 days of joining.

4. Complete your Initial Health Screener (IHS)

Cardinal Care Medicaid and FAMIS members should receive an Initial Health Screener (IHS) when joining our plan. The IHS is a short survey that helps us connect you with care and doctors that fit your needs. It will take less than five minutes to fill out.

If you have a care manager, they will help you fill out your IHS.

If you did not receive your IHS in the mail or need help completing it, call our care management team at 800-901-0020 (TTY 711), option 6, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time.

Call Member Services at 800-901-0020 (TTY 711) if your mailing address, phone number, job, income, or family members living with you has changed. Remember to also update your information with your local Department of Social Services.

You can also call Cover Virginia at 833-5CALLVA (833-522-5582) (TDD: 888-221-1590) or go through your online account at CommonHelp to update your address.

Remember to renew your benefits every year and confirm that Medicaid has your current address and phone number.

You’ll get a letter and form from the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) when it’s time for you to renew. Correct any errors, add any missing information, sign, and mail the form back in the envelope provided. You can also complete your renewal online at commonhelp.virginia.gov.

Your current PCP is listed on your profile page. You’ll need to log in or register to access it.

To change your PCP, you’ll need to know the name of the new PCP you want. If you know the PCP, use our Change PCP tool. If you don’t know the name of the new PCP you’d like, use our Find a Doctor tool to search for a new PCP.
