Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Nevada Celebrates One-Year Anniversary of its Community Wellness Center in Las Vegas

Since its opening, the Center has served more than 3,000 community members.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, one of Nevada’s largest coordinators of health insurance benefits, celebrated the one-year anniversary of the opening of its Las Vegas Community Wellness Center on Thursday June 20th with a community open house and health and wellness resource fair. The local resource has served more than 3,000 community members since its opening.

Anthem Medicaid leaders were joined by local community members and community-based organizations to showcase how the center has helped offer easy access to free programs and services to address all of life’s critical needs, including healthcare, food, housing, employment, transportation, childcare, education, financial assistance and various social supports.

As part of Anthem’s longstanding commitment to improving the health of communities, the organization has been addressing the complex and interconnected factors that shape health right here in Las Vegas. As a testament to this commitment, during the event Anthem recognized and awarded $1,000 each to three vital community-based partners - Foster Kinship, Lutheran Social Services, and Candelen. Over the past year, these organizations have worked steadfastly with Anthem to enhance health and wellness throughout the region.

Through Anthem’s Wellness Center, Anthem associates and experts connect members with health services in a way that’s most convenient for them by addressing the physical, behavioral, economic, social, and environmental factors that impact community health. The center offers daily support in navigating the Medicaid redetermination process as well in finding programs and resources that have been made available to eligible individuals at little or no cost.

The anniversary celebration was the first of two planned Anthem Community Wellness Center events in Nevada, with the second being in Reno in the coming weeks.

Anthem’s Las Vegas Community Wellness Center is open to the public Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and is located in the Bonanza Square Shopping Mall at 2348 East Bonanza Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89101.
