HIALEAH, FL — Simply Healthcare Plans (Simply) opened its new Community Service Center in Hialeah on Wednesday as part of its ongoing efforts to combat inequality in underserved neighborhoods and provide innovative healthcare solutions for communities across Hialeah and Miami-Dade County.
The Simply Community Service Center is a one-stop-shop for a wide range of information and resources, including access to healthcare, social and financial supports, innovative technology and more. The Center will serve as a comfortable, welcoming neighborhood health care information and education space that is open to the public, including Medicaid and Medicare populations, and staffed by Simply associates who can help provide support and assistance to visitors.
“We are proud to bring this brick-and-mortar location to Hialeah to help make it easier for people to access health information where they live and work,” said Holly Prince, president, Simply. “We look forward to extending our presence in the local community to help residents access the tools, resources and services necessary to address their whole health and wellbeing.”
The Center will play a critical role to ensure residents in the local community have access to experts who can share health care information in a culturally sensitive manner and help them to make better informed health care decisions for themselves and their families.
“With National Hispanic Heritage Month upon us, we are thrilled to celebrate the opening of this community service center in a city where Hispanics make up almost 95% of the population,” said Cristy Castaneda, director of marketing, Simply. “This center is emblematic of Simply’s commitment to reduce health disparities and increase access to resources and opportunities for the Hispanic communities that have provided so many invaluable contributions to the U.S. and South Florida.”
The grand opening featured a ribbon cutting, open house, community events, Simply leadership and community partners, including Simply President Holly Prince, Hialeah Mayor Esteban Bovo, Hialeah Chamber of Commerce president Mandy Llanes, State Representative Tom Fabricio, State Representative Alex Rizo, and representatives from Salvation Army, Project Access Foundation, Centro Mater.
Simply celebrated three community partners at the event with $15,000 awards ($5,000 each) for their extraordinary support and dedication to families in the Hialeah area, including food and housing insecurity, access to care, and social services for underserved, vulnerable populations.
The Simply Community Service Center will serve as a critical wrap-around partner to help ensure more people across Hialeah can connect to services and resources and remove barriers to make health more equitable and accessible so they can build a brighter future for themselves and their families.
