UW Health and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield announce extension for network participation

MADISON, WI. – March 12, 2025 -- UW Health and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Wisconsin have agreed to extend UW Health participation in Anthem’s care provider network until July 1, 2025, as the two organizations continue negotiations toward a new long-term contract.
The current agreement was set to expire in April. This extension allows all Anthem health plan members to continue receiving in-network coverage at UW Health and affiliated care locations until at least July 1, 2025.
Anthem and UW Health remain committed to negotiating a new multi-year agreement that ensures Anthem members have access to care at UW Health for years to come.
Anthem members with questions may contact Anthem’s Member Service Center through the Sydney Health app or by calling the number on their ID card. If UW Health patients have questions related to their care, they should contact their provider’s office.
